This online open source Pressbooks simple e-publishing system, for collaboration, creation, and distribution of scholarly electronic literature and resources, is a replica of the first online open e-textbook publishing pilot project in Alberta at Athabasca University (AU) in the Faculty of Health Disciplines, from 2015-2019 (EPUB-FHD.ATHABASCAU.CA). The Open Educational Resources (OER) service distributed open e-textbooks and e-books in the following formats:

HTML (web browsers)
EPUB (ebook readers)
PDF (digital and print)

EPUB-FHD.ATHABASCAU.CA focused on producing and disseminating quality OER for learning, through the collaboration and volunteering of Athabasca University authors, technical support, and external consultant.
